Top Caps
Enhance Your BMX Performance With a Top Cap
The BMX top cap is located at the summit of your fork, directly above the headset. Often underestimated, this small part plays a crucial role. It compresses your fork and stem against the frame's head tube while securing the headset's position for fluid bar rotations.
The top caps go by various names like BMX compression bolt, compression cap, or BMX fork bolt, yet they all denote the same item and can be used interchangeably. BMX top cap bolts are generally crafted from aluminium, ensuring they don't burden your bike with excess weight.
When selecting a top cap, determine if it is compatible with your fork. The thread size is particularly significant and can be found in our product descriptions and specification section.
Guide to Fitting and Removing Top Caps
The procedure for installing and removing a top cap is quite simple. To swap the cap, first, loosen the stem bolts using a 6 or 8 mm Allen key. Following this, you can unscrew the existing top cap with the appropriately sized Allen key and fit the new one. Ensure the new cap is firmly secured to maintain a solid setup.
