Guidance on Fitting BMX Handlebars
To properly fit handlebars to a BMX, adhere to these straightforward steps:
- Begin by using an Allen key to remove the faceplate of your stem.
- Position the handlebar in the stem, making certain the knurled area of the handlebar is precisely centred in the stem.
- Join the stem by clamping it around the handlebars. Initially, use your fingers to fasten the bolts.
- Proceed to tighten each bolt with an Allen key. Ensure the bolts are tightened incrementally in a cross pattern for uniform tightness on all four bolts.
- Before completing the tightening process, inspect the gap between the stem and the stem faceplate. The gap must be consistent across the stem. If so, proceed to fully tighten the bolts, maintaining the cross pattern.
Your handlebar fitting is now complete.
