Guide to Installing HIC Compression
HIC stands for Hidden Integrated Compression. In this video, our scooter expert, Jonas, demonstrates the correct method to install HIC compression.
Step One: Setting up Your Fork and Headset
- Begin by sliding the initial bearing onto the fork
- Insert the fork into the head tube of your deck
- Position the additional bearing into the upper bearing cup
- Secure the C-ring within the headset
- Place the headset top cap on
Step Two: Setting up HIC Scooter Compression
- Position the shim atop the fork
- Next, take your HIC top cap and screw it on
- Ensure it is snug and secure. Good job!
Grease: When assembling metal components, applying grease can greatly simplify the task and extend the durability of your parts. While installing HIC compression, consider applying a small amount of grease to the two bearing cups as well as to the threads of your HIC top cap.
