2023: Vientiane Skatepark in Laos

The Vientiane Skatepark marks a major milestone for the skateboarding community in Laos, and we’re proud to have supported its creation through our ongoing partnership with Make Life Skate Life.

The skateboarding scene in Vientiane has been growing despite the absence of a dedicated skatepark. Skaters have made do with streets and makeshift spots, while often being seen as outlaws. But the wait is over – the skatepark is here!

Breaking New Ground – Laos’ First Skatepark

The skatepark marks a big turning point for the skateboarding community in Laos. It provides a safe and welcoming environment for skateboarders to practise their passion, and it features programmes that introduce new skateboarders to the sport through coaching and free skateboards to try out.

The skatepark provides more than just a surface to ride on; it’s a space for connection, growth, and community-building. In a country where skateboarding had to be pursued in the shadows, this park now shines as a symbol of progress and inclusion.
