Skate4Kids – From Västervik to Karlskrona on Wheels
In June, our friends from Skate4Kids embarked on another long-distance longboarding adventure, this time winding through the captivating landscapes of Småland. Their goal was to conquer the 250 km from Västervik to Karlskrona, including rugged roads, dense forests, and coastal trails along the Baltic Sea.
Riding to raise funds for Barncancerfonden, the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation, Skate4Kids are selfless longboard riders on a mission to raise awareness and funding for an important cause. This mission aligns perfectly with SkatePro’s Giveback concept, and one we’ve been thrilled to support since learning about their endeavors.
We’ve backed Skate4Kids since 2019, and have come to know them as hardcore and unstoppable longboard riders, who’ve tackled rough roads across Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, France, Belgium, Sweden, and the Netherlands. Therefore, it came as no surprise that they did not give up after 6 hours of unrideable gravel roads in Småland:
However, what happened next did come as a bit of a surprise. Unfortunately, just over halfway through their trip, the team was hit by a fever that took them all out. In their Instagram update, they shared: “As much as we want to complete our trip, it’s just not possible. It feels very sad, as we look forward to these trips all year, and as soon as one ends, we’re already planning the next.”
We feel you, but we’re taking this as a promise, Skate4Kids—see you next year!
