Skate4Kids – Rolling From Skavkulla to Ystad
This year saw the Skate4Kids crew tackle a challenging 248 km journey from Skavkulla to Ystad, winding through the stunning landscapes of Blekinge and Skåne. For Jim Petersson, this journey marks a decade of long-distance longboarding for a cause. An impressive milestone indeed!
"We have families ourselves and there is nothing worse than losing a child to cancer. Any money we can raise will make a difference" - Jim shared with Kristianstadsbladet, August 27.
Skate4Kids is dedicated to raising funds for Barncancerfonden, the Swedish Childhood Cancer Foundation, and we’re honoured to support these incredible riders. Watching them power through for such a meaningful cause is inspiring.
Lush forests and stunning coastal sceneries are abundant on their chosen route, but it didn’t come without challenges. Rain and headwinds marked much of the journey, but as Jim noted in Kristianstadsbladet, “It has been raining heavily, so it takes a little longer to get around. It's not very fast with the headwind and so on, but it works well."
Four days of rain couldn't shake the resolve of these seasoned longboarders, who have over a decade of experience to their names. And they’re not slowing down anytime soon. Rumor has it they’re already eyeing new destinations—maybe the Finnish Åland Islands or the Amsterdam-to-Calais route they had to put on hold last year due to the pandemic.
We’re excited to see where they'll roll next!
