Purchasing a Scooter Deck
The scooter deck provides the platform where you stand whilst riding.
Swapping the deck on a stunt scooter is akin to replacing the frame on a bike; all components must be transferred and should fit the new deck. It's essential to examine your fork, headset, peg, and wheel prior to any upgrade.
The diagram below identifies the elements of a deck:
Most decks are constructed from aluminium. Brakes and axles are generally included, unless specified otherwise.
Tips for Purchasing Scooter Decks:
- Lighter decks do not last as long as heavier ones, yet they facilitate easier trick manoeuvres.
- Heavier decks have greater durability but tend to rotate more slowly during tricks.
- Ensure to land tricks evenly on the deck to prolong its lifespan.
- Pegs are not universally compatible with all decks due to varying designs.
- Forks are available in various lengths; a too-short fork might fail to reach into an SCS, ICS or HIC system.
- The headtube angle determines the direction of the bar towards you.
- Griptape can be replaced any time you wish. Ensure the deck is clean before application.
- Only integrated headtubes are compatible with integrated headsets.
